Here are our recommended travel times and schedule. Please read the entire document before booking your train.
Getting Here From Anaheim
The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner departs throughout the day every hour. We recommended the rides that leave at 6:49 AM or 7:49 AM PDT.
Arrive at the Oceanside Transit Center.
Oceanside to Escondido (Nordahl Road Station)
The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner arrives roughly 30 minutes before the NCTD Sprinter departs. The two trains meet at the same stop, the Oceanside Transit Center. The NCTD Sprinter tickets are only available for purchase at the Oceanside Transit Center. The train will not sell out.
Get off at the Nordahl Road Station
From the Nordahl Road Station take a ride share. The drive is roughly 7 minutes.
Getting Back
Escondido (Nordahl Road Station) to Oceanside
We recommended the 5:36 PM or 6:36 PM depature time from Escondido
Oceanside to Anaheim
We recommended the 7:57 PM departure time from Oceanside to Anaheim
Important Notes
- The transfer between the first train, the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner, and the second train, the North Country Train District Sprinter, is at the same station in Oceanside
- You can book your Amtrak Pacific Surfliner tickets ahead of time on their website
- Tickets for the second train, the Sprinter, can only be purchased at the Oceanside and Nordahl Road / Escondido stations
- There is a two-hour maximum of when these tickets are valid, so wait to purchase your departing ticket until you are at the station to leave
- The overall ride is about 2.5 hours
- The overall cost should be around $45, though that is subject to change
- The Pacific Surfliner is run by Amtrak, and the Sprinter is run by North Country Transit District, two separate companies

6. Take a ride share to Kiesel Guitars
Leaving

2. Purchase a ticket to go West for the NCTD Sprinter
3. Arrive at the Oceanside Transit Center
4. Board the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner
5. Arrive at the Anaheim Train Station

The Kiesel Guitars factory is located ~ 1 hour and 15 minutes south of the Anaheim Convention Center.
